Koala-Steel
Design Michele De Lucchi and Sezgin Aksu
The name of the product comes from the shape of the connection used to fix the display panels to the steel cables, calling to mind the Koala's paws grasping the branches of the eucalytus trees. I think that these objects for Caimi are most suitable for expressing a concept I often refer to, namely the importance to protect the two most valuable principles in such a virtual age like ours, namely time and space. These considerations are most important to display, as everyone knows that to communicate requires as much vision and impact as possible: we tried to sumlimate these qualities by using as little material as possible.
Everything hangs from a few thin steel cables, that contribute to the advantage of transparency and space.(Michele de Lucchi)
